Supporting Joy for Children

Some partnerships remind you that doing good is never wasted. Our time with the Jessie Rees Foundation, also known as NEGU, which stands for “Never Ever Give Up,” was exactly that kind of reminder.

LB Charitable Foundation had the privilege of witnessing the Jessie Rees Foundation team in action as they assembled Joy Jars for children currently fighting cancer. These colorful, carefully packed jars are more than a gift. They are a message delivered directly to a child in a hospital bed that says: you are seen, you are loved, and you are not alone.

Watching the assembly process unfold was moving. Every jar packed is a moment of brightness sent into what can be one of the darkest seasons a family will ever face. The Jessie Rees Foundation carries this work with tremendous heart, and the dedication in that room was unmistakable.

Cancer does not just affect the child. It touches every member of a family. The Joy Jar initiative understands that, reaching not only the young patients but bringing a measure of comfort and hope to the parents, siblings, and caregivers walking alongside them. That kind of holistic compassion is exactly what LB Charitable Foundation looks for in the organizations it supports.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand behind partners like the Jessie Rees Foundation who are making a meaningful, lasting difference in their communities. As a funder, LBCF is committed to ensuring that organizations doing this vital work have the resources they need to keep going, because the need does not stop, and neither should we.

To every child fighting cancer today: NEGU. Never Ever Give Up.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” ~ Galatians 6:9
